The Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem Municipal Assembly has today observed the world aids day celebration by organizing HIV screening for people in the municipality. This programme was organized with the support from Ghana AIDS Commission and the technical support unit from Central Regional Coordinating Council collaborated with the Ghana Health Service to organise HIV screening
This was in Line with the 90-90-90 target set by the UNAIDS. This target was set to ensure that 90% of all people living with HIV will know their HIV status. Also 90% all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained anti retro-viral therapy. And Finally 90% of people receiving anti retro-viral therapy will have viral suppression.
The people of Elmina took this screening serious and really participated in the exercise to make it a success at the end.
