Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Municipal Assembly in collaboration with TREE PROJECT organized a training workshop for Nabco personnel under the Revenue Ghana Module on Data Collection and Revenue Mobilization for improved Internal Generated Fund (IGF) for developmental projects in the Municipality.

The training workshop commenced with a welcome address from the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Daniel Osei-Asibey. The Coordinating Director intimated that the KEEAMA is committed to the development of the municipality. However, the Municipal Assembly does not have the financial muscles to undertake some of the infrastructural and developmental projects therefore the need for implementation of advanced revenue mobilization measures especially in the area of property rates.

Mr. Daniel Osei-Asibey assured the participants of the support of the municipality in all their endeavors so that they can contribute effectively and efficiently to the effort of revenue mobilization for the assembly to give back to the people their developmental desires.

For the first session of the training workshop, the participants were taken through the sources of revenue and the revenue performance pattern of the municipality over the years in order for them to come to bear with some of the challenges of revenue mobilization of KEEAMA and the role they have to play for an enhanced revenue generation.

The second session of the training workshop centered on how participants can use the Computerized Assisted Personal Interview device for data collection on properties of the municipality for improved database on properties to aid the Municipal Assembly to mobilize enough property rates vis a vis providing the communities with their developmental needs and services.

The Nabco Personnel under the Revenue Ghana Module were trained on how to use the ODK Collect App for data collection and subsequently undertook a sample data collection exercise using the ODK Collect App.

The training workshop ended successfully with a closing remark from the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Nana Appiah Korang entreating the participants to be ethical and abide by code conducts of the municipality and undertake their duties diligently and honestly for a better KEEAMA and a better Ghana.
