The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development of the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Municipal Assembly distributed items to PWDs aimed at supporting the persons with disabilities (PWDs) within the municipality. The initiative formed part of the Assembly’s efforts to promote economic empowerment, social inclusion, and improved livelihoods for vulnerable groups.
During the exercise, essential livelihood items including refrigerators, sewing machines, and fufu pounding machines were presented to selected beneficiaries. The items are expected to assist recipients in engaging in income-generating activities and achieving greater self-reliance.
The occasion was graced by the Municipal Chief Executive who emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to the welfare and empowerment of persons with disabilities (PWDs). Beneficiaries were also encouraged to make effective and responsible use of the items to enhance their economic well-being.
The donation exercise was well received and underscored the Assembly’s dedication to inclusive development and social protection within the KEEA Municipality.
