The Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Municipal Assembly on 20th of August 2021, distributed fifteen (15) metallic containers to 15 persons with disabilities in the municipality. This comprised of nine (9) males and six (6) females. The programme started at 10am at the KEEAM Assembly Hall. In attendance was the Municipal Chief Executive of KEEA MA, The Municipal Coordinating Director, The Municipal Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, The District Fund Management Committee members, media personnel, among others.
The Hon Municipal Chief Executive advised the beneficiaries to use the containers to use and not to make it a white elephant. He also assured them the municipal assembly will continue to make the necessary effort to support persons with disability with the support of government.
The Head of Department for Social Welfare and Community Development admonished the beneficiaries to use the containers for the purposes for which it was intended. He told the gathering that these beneficiaries have gone through vetting and he was sure that each beneficiary is qualified to receive the container given to them.
